Rebecca Kerr

Rebecca’s approach to family law is one that encourages cooperation and a strong effort to resolve cases without need for extensive litigation whenever possible. If minor children are involved, she will always advocate for clients with the best interest of their minor child(ren) in mind.

Following a 20+ year special and general education K-12 teaching career, Rebecca has been a practicing Family Law attorney since 2015. Her decades of experience teaching youth brings an entirely refreshing perspective to her understanding of families and their children, and the need to resolve family law cases with the least amount of damage as possible. She is a spirited advocate for case settlement and mediation rather than litigation. 

A vegetarian since the age of sixteen, Rebecca loves animals, including her own cats. In her spare time, she enjoys travel, reality television, and spending time with family and friends. She is the proud mother of three adult children. As an ordained minister through the Universal Life Church, she performs marriage ceremonies throughout the State of Michigan.

While teaching full-time, Rebecca attended Western Michigan University Cooley School of Law – Ann Arbor Campus full-time in the evening. There, she graduated Cum Laude in the top 10% of her class, was on the Dean’s List and the Honor Roll for all 9 terms, and was awarded three certificates of merit (highest score in the class).
